An odd little place is Tan Tan Plage. It's rather growing on us, even if it has that 'very run down but once was and might well be again' something about it. It's real. The locals are friendly and no one hassles us. We need a quiet time. Krysia has been down with a cold so some rest is needed. We're parked up in a popular campsite with a view of the sea, pleasant mind your own business neighbours and long beach walks to shake off those snuffling blues.
It is cold in the wind. Blowing down from Europe I suppose. The sun is very warm so the best of both worlds can be had. As far south as we've been in Morocco, on the edge of the Western Sahara. Outside of town is flat, barren and endless. Space, sandy and vast. On the edge of something different. If it wasn't for international tensions, the whole of North Africa would be accessible by camel from here! Mali, Mauritania. Algeria and beyond. Senegal and Ebola stricken Sierra Leone to the south. A lot of sand between us thank goodness. We're having a rest!
Modern communications allow us long video chats with Jaimie and Storn in Guatemala. Amazing. We can literally wave at each other across the Atlantic Ocean. And a lot more. We took part in her 26th birthday celebrations. As if we were there with them, well almost.
Here's what she had for her birthday breakfast and where she had it. Livingston, Guatemala.
We eat fresh caught fish, dates and bananas!
Wishing good health to all.
